Europe camping is a fun way to tour in Europe and get excellent value for money.

Contiki’s fleet of coaches is the last word in comfort, safety and reliability! On board… wide, luxury seats, air conditioning, panoramic, tinted windows, plus a stereo system, (so don’t forget to bring along your favourite music). (What’s more, we’re pleased to offer a smoke-free environment – no worries, dedicated puffers…you’re never on the road long enough to miss it!)

Crew of 3 - Driver, Tour Manager and Super Cook: Carefully selected, highly qualified, Contiki-trained, your Tour Manager will give you the low-down on new sights and sounds and show you more than you’d ever find out travelling solo. Your Driver also trained by us is fully experienced – he’s passed the toughest European driving tests. Your Super Cook is planner, organiser, supervisor extraordinaire! Also, is a dab-hand at helping you prepare and cook the group’s meals (You’ll be a budding chef in no time!).

Meals: B.B.Q. sausages round the campfire? Well...if you fancy it. Personally, we prefer our fast-assembly, stored-on-board cook unit, specially supervised by our Super Cook whilst you and your team prepare culinary delights for all. Much more civilised! Your Food Fund covers Breakfast (B) and Dinner (D) as highlighted on individual itineraries (Check individual itineraries for full meal information). No, lunch is not included...as they once were, but we stopped due to our passengers pointing out that it was inconvenience to have their day of sightseeing interrupted just so they could all assemble for lunch. When dinner is not included, join up for an optional evening out on the town or go-it-alone and get in touch with the locals.

Greatly improved campsites and tents used: On board our coaches we carry modern 2-person put-me-up tents. Custom-built for your comfort, they’re a real pushover to sort out, set up ‘n’ pack up. Yes, you participate in setting up camp and with the preparation of meals, but this is all part of the fun. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, but we look after the comfort side of things, by providing each twin-share tent with two single air mattresses. You’ll learn the ropes in no time! On-site facilities include showers, washing facilities (almost always hot water), shops and bars. (In a few campsites you will be required to purchase tokens on-site for showers.) Most campsites also boast a few of those little extras: restaurants, swimming pools and washing machines! It’s all go!

Contiki Time Out Tours
Time Out tours offer both traditional and unusual destinations and are ideal for the traveller or couple who want to travel in comfort around Europe. If you have already seen the traditional sites of Europe, Time Out offers in-depth tours of particular countries such as France, Spain, Morocco and Italy as well as tours of the Middle East and Turkey.

You'll always travel in style aboard an air-conditioned coach for all touring vacations. On coach tours you have a Contiki Tour Manager and Driver and on other vacations there is always a Contiki Tour Manager/Rep to lead the way.

You'll stay in superior tourist class hotels (many in the centre of major cities) and most tours include some exceptional properties like our City Club in Vienna - a 5 star resort, or Europe's highest hotel on Mount Pilatus, Lucerne. All rooms have private facilities and you can choose either single, twin-share, or triple-share.

Most days start with a traditional continental breakfast - coffee or tea, juice, rolls and croissants. In some places you can have a buffet and occasionally a fully cooked breakfast. At lunch, we give you the freedom to do your own thing. For dinner, you'll be our guest for about half your vacation with a buffet or three-course meal. In each country where we don't include the evening meal, we arrange special optional meals out to try the local cuisine. If notified at the time of booking, Contiki will do their best to meet any special dietary requirements.

Contiki Concept Tours
Itineraries include all the classic European cities as well as destinations that are a little bit off the beaten track. If you've got the time - anything from 12 days to 48 days you can bet we've got the tour you're looking for.

You'll always travel in style and comfort with your Contiki Tour Manager and Driver aboard a modern air-conditioned coach. Accommodation is mostly twin-share and never more than four persons sharing a room. Contiki has three types of Concept accommodations:
Special stopovers: Exclusive Contiki properties, which are not expensive or flashy - the emphasis is always on value and fun. Unique accommodations ranging from a restored Chateau in France, to Gasthofs in Austria, to alpine chalets in Switzerland -- with all the creature comforts you need!
Villages: Cabins in specially designed Contiki Villages are located in Europe's best campsites with the usual shared facilities - W.C.s (bathrooms), showers, bars, shops, sports facilities, a swimming pool, a nightclub, and sometimes nearby beaches to soak up the sun.
Hotel/Pension: On certain tours, you can look forward to staying in a hotel or pension chosen for location, facilities and the warmth of its welcome.
The food is often prepared especially for you by the Contiki staff. You'll occasionally help with serving and washing up -- it's all part of the experience! For breakfast, there's cereal, muesli, yogurt, bread rolls and fresh fruit as well as a hot dish. At lunch you're free to do your own thing. About half your dinners are included in the cost of your tour (see tour itinerary for specific meal details) On other nights we take you out to sample the local restaurants. Veggie lover?
