Trip Itinerary
Day 1: London to Amsterdam
A warm welcome from your Contiki Crew as we head for the White Cliffs
of Dover and the Channel crossing to France. We travel through Belgium
and into the Netherlands. After dinner a chance to explore this unique
city and it’s amazing nightlife. (D)
Day 2: Amsterdam
This morning why not take a canal bike ride to further explore Amsterdam?
In your free time perhaps visit famous sights such as Anne Frank’s House
or the Van Gogh Museum. Tonight, maybe get together for dinner out on
the town. (B)
Day 3: Amsterdam to Berlin
Today we pass Hannover and cross the River Elbe as we make our way to
Germany’s capital Berlin. (B,D)
Day 4: Berlin
Time to explore this lively city where East and West once met. A chance
for an Historical Walking tour, a visit to the “Checkpoint Charlie” museum
or to check out the great shops, cafés and nightlife. (B)
Day 5: Berlin to Prague
This morning we make a stop in Dresden before crossing the border in to
the Czech Republic. Tonight we discover the golden city of Prague. (B,D)
Day 6: Prague
Free time to further discover the labyrinth of streets in the old town,
the medieval castle district and Karlov Most, the most photographed bridge
in Prague. Tonight’s dinner is your choice and afterwards enjoy the local
nightlife. (B)
Day 7: Prague to Vienna
Journey south to Vienna, the majestic capital of Austria. This afternoon
join us for a sightseeing tour of the Burg Ring and then an evening of
local culture. (B)
Day 8: Vienna to Budapest
We journey from Vienna across the Hungarian Plains to Budapest. Tonight
a chance to explore this European gem. (B,D)
Day 9: Budapest
A day to fall under the spell of this jewel of the east. Magnificent views
from the castle district, plenty of shopping opportunities and time to
appreciate the museums of this former-Communist capital. A chance to try
the local specialties for dinner tonight. (B)
Day 10: Budapest to Belgrade
Travelling south we make our way along the flat plains towards the border
town of Szeged. Into Serbia, we pass the city of Novi Sad, famous for
the July Exit Music Festival, before arriving at one of the oldest capitals
in Europe – Belgrade. Wander through the fortress and take some time to
enjoy the busy pedestrian streets. (B,D)
Day 11: Belgrade to Sarajevo
Enjoy the scenery today as we make our way to Bosnia. We travel along
the picturesque Drina River valley, past vineyards and through spectacular
mountain forest before arriving in Sarajevo. Time to enjoy the history,
culture and architecture of this city emerging from its troubled past.

Day 12: Sarajevo to Dubrovnik
Free time this morning, then it’s on through the diverse countryside and
farmlands. We’ll stop in the beautiful town of Mostar for lunch with time
to see the ‘Old Bridge’ and famous neighbourhoods nearby. Later we’ll
cross into Croatia and make our way to Dubrovnik. (B,D)
Days 13-14: Dubrovnik
Two days of sightseeing to explore one of Europe’s most breathtaking locations
and the jewel of the Croatian coastline, the picturesque walled city of
Dubrovnik. In your free time enjoy this UNESCO World Heritage Sight by
taking a walk along the old town walls or relaxing on the beach. (B)(B,D)
Day 15: Dubrovnik to Zadar
We follow the Dalmatian Coast, enjoying the scenic Dalmatian Archipelago
that mixes stunning blue waters with the many islands. We pass agricultural
fields of lemons and oranges on our way to Split, home to the Roman remains
of Diocletian’s Palace. From here we follow the coast north to our overnight
stop in Zadar. (B,D)
Day 16: Zadar to Venice
Journey through beautiful Slovenia to the magical city of Venice. (B,D)
Day 17: Venice
A short boat ride takes us into the historical centre of Venice to see
St. Mark’s Square, the Doges’ Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. See glass
and lace making demonstrations and why not treat yourself to a gondola
ride? (B,D)
Day 18: Venice to Greece
Cruising across the Adriatic Sea we head towards Greece. (B)
Day 19: Arrive Athens
We arrive in Greece and make our way from Patras to the famous Corinth
canal before arriving in historic Athens. (B)
Day 20: Athens
A whole day in Athens where our city tour includes the first modern Olympic
stadium, the Acropolis and the Parthenon. (B)
Day 21: End Athens
Time to say farewell to your fellow travellers. Your tour ends after breakfast.
